Depends where you are at. In dryland farming, a 50 bushel wheat crop is very good. We picked up 18 windrow with a CII for years. Low spots where a bit of a grunt and the G we got did a lot better, but it did it fine. Now if the yield was 75 an acre, not a chance in the low spots. Our G had a 20 foot "straight" header as they are called here, our L3 had 24, handled them no trouble. Remember, a CII could be had with a 24 foot header as an option. Crops were not as heavy in those days, but I think an F with diesel would handle 18 nicely in this part of the world anyhow...Trev.

i ran a 13 ft header on my "g" and my "k" both! the "k" handled the 13 ft with ease! i'm sure the "f" could handle an 18 ft. shucks i ran a 20 ft on my 1440 IH last year! handled it fine in 50 bu beans!
