Would like to eliminate the muffler on my steiger and go straight pipe but I need an aspirator. Has anyone ever made there own that works like it should? I can buy a kit from shoup for $400 some odd dollars but all I need is the aspirator. I've seen people just weld a small pipe inside the middle of a stack but does that alone create enough vacuum to function?

Found this, on the combine forum... We put a muffler on our r62 from harvest salvage in Brandon MB, its off a case tractor and i can tell you this, that venturi almost sucks your hand in. If you want one with it in the stack. check combine salvages. the Gleaners all have straight pipes directly from the turbo. there is a venturi there in the pipe. it has a curved stack and everything about 3 feet long.
best of luck. |

In the past (15 years back) Donaldson offered a few straight pipes set up for this, I do not have a catalog handy, but was a pipe with a venturie formed into it with the tube through the center.

The picture shows it on top of the muffler, will it work at the bottom of the stack? The one on my gleaner says right on it "not to add any more pipe on top of it" must effect performance.

What is an exhaust aspirator, how does it work, and what does it do?
Other than that, I am quite familiar with them. |

Simply put, it uses the flowing exhaust, to create a vacuum that agitates or purges debris, from an air cleaner...
