Joe,
I googled the model number and got several hits with specifications saying it was a Ford made motor. Looks like there are a lot of them floating around out there.

Looks very similar to the 300 C.I.D. six in my F-150.
That engine saw much use in industrial applications;
large woodchippers, come to mind.

yep looks like the great 300 or 240 ford six,used in alot of industry stuff as brian said. both of my ford trucks f600,f-700 have them (300ci)
