Anyone use that Ignitor electronic ignition conversion kit on their Allis?
Thinking about getting it and the Pertronix Flame Thrower coil for my 55 CA. I already have it converted to 12 volt with an alternator.

I have it on my one ninety gas. Been on there for 15+ years. Original module crapped out this winter. Replaced it and we're up and running again. All in all, I'm happy with it.

We sell a boat load of em'. You don't have to run the Pertronix Blaster Coil. Totally optional. The E.I. was designed to work with the stock Coil. Just make sure its the correct Coil. 12V/3.0 Ohm is what you want for a 4 cylinder on 12V. With all the junk tuneup parts out there in the aftermarket, I think that's why we sell so many E.I.'s. People are tired of junk points/condensers. With the E.I., the Tractor starts quicker, runs nicer. Make sure the Distributor mainshaft doesn't have a wobble in it first. Pop the cap, grab the rotor and see if you have any side to side movement. If not, you're good ta' go. If it does, you should address getting the Distributor rebuilt first, then install your E.I. We do Distributor rebuilding as well. HTH. Visit our website. Lots of good info there.... Steve@B&B bb-customcircuits.com

Thanks for the info. I was going to get the coil too since I don't know how old or long the one on it has been there. Just want to get everything freshened up.
And was thinking it would be nice to go electronic just so I don't have to search for good points/condenser's anymore as you said. I've had this CA for a few years now and have just left it as is, but now I need to get my butt in gear and start doing something with it. It's just a play toy for me, not my work tractor. I see they have kits for both positive and negative ground systems? I wasn't the one that did the 12 volt conversion, but I'll have to make sure it is negative ground that I believe it is.

if it has an alternator, there is a 99.9% chance it is Negative Ground.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

I have EI on most of my gas tractors. The best upgrade you can do.

I have the Pertronix on my D17, and on my Hyster, and on my Clark... would've put it on my Jeepster, but they didn't have a setup for the odd-fire 225 Prestolite distributor...

Ten Amendments, Ten Commandments, and one Golden Rule solve most every problem. Citrus hand-cleaner with Pumice does the rest.
