1978 Chevrolet "El Camino"

Owned by Loy's Hot Rod Garage

Flanking it is a 1982-1987 final series El Camino, also owned by Loy's Hot Rod Garage.

These were the final series of the El Camino.


Visually, there is very little if anything to determine whether an El Camino is a 1982 or a 1987.

The parent car they are derived from, the Chevelle Malibu, was discontinued in 1983.

There were a couple of those in our area, back in the day. One or two El Ranchero’s also.
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Cool! Not as nice as the earlier ones but still pretty good for the eighties. I would certainly have one and make it into a bit of hotrod!

The gmc versions were the sprint and then the Caballero. Both lame names in comparison.
