It refers to the hydraulic system.  The draft control.  I have brought two ED40's over the years to resale, but have not used them and do not know how it operates.

CrestonM, check your e-mail.  Sent you a brochure that I don't have a link for.

Thanks!
The ED-40 seems like a great tractor (Maybe better than the small end of the D-series!) With factory 3pt with what seems like a great draft control system, differential lock, and live PTO, how the American D-Series didn't have that? I guess in some ways they kinda do, PD provides live PTO, and the SC has a draft sensing mechanism, but there's no diff lock.

They were advanced.  The problem was the Standard 23C diesel.  It is hard to start when cold.  I have the same engine in a Ferguson TO-35.  It is a great tractor, but I keep a can of starting fluid in the tool box.

I kind of think the European tractors were more advanced then North American ones because there was more competition for small tractors to work in vineyards and such and maybe there is more mud in Europe then over here.  Always seemed wet when I lived there.

Main problem that I've seen on the ED's is that the lift housing breaks...
