    Posted: 10 Jul 2019 at 10:09pm
So called local tire shop to see about replacing the front tire on my wd45 single front wheel setup. While discussing tire options, we both wondered how best to remove the old tire from the rim? Said he's been there for 25 years and never had to change one. Is there anything special to removing the tire? I noticed that there appears to be bolts around the rim on both sides so I'm kinda thinking the rim is 2 pieces and you remove the bolts to split the rim and remove the tire? But I'm probably why off...

I'm not 100% sure about the WD45. My SFW CA is a one piece, cast iron (very heavy) front wheel. On the CA, you take the bolts out of the sides and the whole thing comes off.

Reinstalling is pretty much a two person job. I jacked the tractor front high enough that I could balance the tire and wheel on a floor jack and I moved the tire/wheel into position while my helper (very patient wife) put the bolts in.

The parts book blow up that Joe posted should help you!

Take it to your local tire shop. Have them break the bead off the rim. Unbolt all bolts. If its like dads wd45, the rim will come apart. Wire brush everything. To put the new tire on, lube the beads and bolt everything back together. I have done several over the years, not too hard.
