ditch witch v30 crowd lever?

last winter we picked up a v30 for the farm. seems to work good haven't used it too much. there it a hyd lever labled "crowd" but it doesn't seem to do anything. does anyone know what this is for?
There are 3 ways to do job GOOD, FAST, CHEAP. YOU MAY CHOOSE 2. If its FAST & CHEAP it won't be GOOD, if it's GOOD & CHEAP it won't be FAST, and if its GOOD & FAST it won't be CHEAP!!!!

Hello Mr Goodwrench    Haven't worked on any trenchers in a very long time   Creep and crowd should be the same.  There should be a hyd flow control valve in that line that adjusts crowd speed, and the crowd lever to start and stop movement also it should reverse direction.   Good Luck

i assume you mean reverse the cutter ...i thought that but it must not work...guess i need a operators manual
