Joe Klauz, Is in the Lords presence now, just found out to day he passed back in April No more of his wise and witty comments. 
Joseph P. "Joe" Klaus Remington - Joseph P. "Joe" Klaus,
78, of Remington, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Monday,
April 8, 2019 at his home. He was born February 4, 1941 in
Rensselaer, IN to the late Joseph F. and Ilo E. (Jordan) Klaus. Joe was a
1959 graduate of Rensselaer High School and attended St. Joseph College
for a semester. Joe proudly served in the United States Army
from 1962 until his honorable discharge in 1965 during the Cuban Missile
Crisis as a Missile Technician. His marriage was to Catherine "Kate"
Coffey on June 27, 1964 at St. Simon the Apostle of Indianapolis; she
survives. Joe was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Knights of Columbus 4th Degree, past president of Young Farmers, member
and served as Treasurer of the Jasper County Retired Iron Club, and was
an Allis-Chalmers Tractor enthusiast. He was also Indiana Polled Dorset
Association Breed Manager for the Indiana State Fair from 1991 until
1992. Joe was self-employed, running his own truck and farm for
most of his life. He also thoroughly enjoyed driving the team bus for
St. Joseph College athletic teams allowing him to travel throughout the
country. In his spare time, Joe was an avid reader, enjoyed
discussing politics and writing, refurbishing tractors, sharing hobbies
with his grandchildren, and the 2 O'clock Coffee Club at McDonalds. Surviving
with his wife Katie are their children, Chris Klaus of Remington, Joe
Jr. (wife: Christy) Klaus of Remington, Carol (husband: Kevin) Junk of
McCordsville, IN, Steve (wife: Amanda) Klaus of Hamilton, OH, and
Melinda (husband: Rex) Adams of Remington. Siblings, Bill (wife: Char)
Klaus of Grand Blanc, MI, Rose Nesius of Rensselaer, and Trish (husband:
Dale) Hamacher of Surprise, AZ. Grandchildren, Kaitlyn Klaus, Patrick
Klaus (wife: Aspen), Eric (wife: Nicole) Junk, Adam Klaus, Erin
(husband: Alex) Yaggie, Brian (wife: Kristina) Junk, Cassie Klaus
(fiancé: Tyler Marshino), Melissa Junk, Charlie Adams, Marianne Adams,
and Grace Adams. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Lilly Anna
Belle Junk, Beau Walker Yaggie, and coming soon, Cora Avery Klaus. Friends
may call from 4-8 PM (EST) Thursday, April 11, 2019 at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church of Remington. Funeral Mass 11 AM (EST) Friday, April 12,
2019 also at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Eulogy beginning at
10:45 AM (EST). Fr. Paul Hudson to officiate. Interment to follow in
Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery of Remington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Joe's name to the Jasper County Fair to benefit the Sheep Barn.

No better way to carry that reminder, than by sending forward all the wit and happiness we can, by sharing it with others. I'm certain Joe would have it no other way.

Made his last post just 5 days before he passed. I hope his family continues to enjoy his collection as a memorial to him.

Joe as I understand it had sold his other Allis tractors and had kept this on because i was his fathers, and was the last one in the tree line, which he gave to the grandson. He got on it and got it all fixed up and painted... Good thing too, because Joe had wanted to get it restored for years and years. but he was not up to par to do it in the end. Notice Joe said his father died in 1941, and he was born in Feb. of 1941, he was raised by the mother, an aunt or two and the grandmother. If I remember right, the uncle stepped in and was like a father to him, took over his fathers farm and farmed it like his own too, till Joe was big enough to take over... farming his dad's farm and going to school and working out... having a gas station and a trucking business and did a lot of other things in his life along the way. He had gone on Hospice last summer/fall as I recall and he knew his days were numbered but made light of it. I was surely hoping he would last a while longer but that was not in the cards for him. Now i can bet the grandson will have very fond memories of his Grandpa. And have a piece of family heirloom and history to pass on down the line... Hopefully.
To bad Ol' Joe didn't write down his auto-biography for us on here, it would have been very interesting.

Met Joe at Dale Haymakers show and at the Gathering of the Orange at Laporte Indiana . Great guy , very easy to talk with . Will miss you Joe , Rest In Peace my friend .

I too will miss the talks with him. We actually had a lot in common. He was a great and funny guy. There are many who enter our lives and leave a footprint in our hearts and he was one of them.
It's amazing the friendships we've all made just because of this site!!!! Thanks Darin for the site and the people who you brought together because of it.
Joe, I'll get to talk to you again, but I hope it's not for a while yet. I should call Katie and express my condolences. I'm betting she'd like to talk to myself and JC. Oh, JC, no telling stories out of school..
