I was looking at my G top hoods and one of them is a 2 piece with a joint down the middle. Is this original, or did someone cut two hoods to make a good one?

I've never heard of a two piece hood, but I've only had a G for a year so I'm a newbie. Have saved lots of pics of them from various sites and don't recall any 2 piece hoods. I think the only difference in hoods was with the tall stack air cleaner inlet tube "special for dusty conditions" there was a hole in the hood. Joe would know.......
cheers,
Creek
