The only "bang" related to the release of the 7 & 8000 series diff lock is the diff lock pedal banging against the cab floor, especially when the cab mounts are old.

OK that does relieve my mind because I very occasionally forget to hit the pedal until in a turn. I t bangs so I thought it couldn't be good...... Also when I bought a 7050 parts tractor that I plan on resurrecting I noticed it had a homemade label (label maker type) on the dash saying to release the difflock before a turn.
