Picked up a 1987 7085 4wd and cab with only 470 hours, still has plastic on the back of the seat.  Looks like new.  Bought a new one in 1989, traded it after about 6,000 hrs. Never thought I could go back to one of those, simple and air cooled. Now if I could only find a 6080 and a 8010 in that condition I'd be in business.

Looked it up on Tractor Data.  Looks like a nice tractor for a 31 year old, 15 hour per year average, rig!

I always thought the 7085 D/A was the better of the 2 ( 6080 )

Dad had bought one new in 1990.
We ran it till 02 when we got an Agco LT80.
That Deutz was a good tractor.
One thing to note is leave the PTO always on when doing field work.
There were quite a few Deutz sold on our area. The high hour ones ended up replacing PTO clutch packs. Mechanics at the time said leave er run.
So what is the story on it.
A farmer bought it then forgot it was in his shed?

Farmer bought it as his special tractor, even had a plaque with farm name in the cab. Used it very limited then got sick for about 10 years and passed in 2010. Son used it to drag a 22 acre pasture since then.  I had to recharge the air conditioning and change fluids.  Still its 31 years old so looking for hoses, etc to be a problem, but for what I paid for it ( wrong color green) I have room for repairs.
