I am a fan of dead weight, in order to pull, you have to get it moving first, track reading skill is a top priority, you only get two chances to give it your best shot, and it's very unforgiving. Balance, tuning, and driving ability will get you also. Some say that it's hard on the tractor, but most of that depends on the driver. WOT and a light clutch foot will tear up the equipment. Transfer is faster and also fun, but going head to head with 50 or 60 tractors in dead weight leaves you with a real sense of accomplishment if you end up winning at the end of the day.
