I know this is a loaded question, but what's the biggest thing you've hung off the back of a D-19 (Snap Coupler or 3-point)?
Only reason I ask is that I have been offered a 3 point mounted 610 chisel (the one made by Jeoffroy for AC). The biggest thing I have is a D-19 and I don't anticipate ever needing anything larger. The chisel looks too big for it but I figured I would ask for the wisdom and experience of the forum. ![]() |

Actually, we probably do. I got my CII from this guy and plenty of rocks busted the bottom of the grain header pan over the years. Go 10 miles west of us and no more big chunks of limestone. I was at least able to lift all the rocks I found in my fields by myself this year, so that was nice.

I see there's 8 shanks on it, but some have been removed & it's 3 pt. Do you have 3 pt on the D19.? Can it lift the chisel and drive with it, or does frontend come off grd? Do you have duals?
The gauge wheels will help keep it from dropping to china & lifting frontend into air. I'd try it with 6 shanks spaced evenly & gauge wheels set about 8" off ground setting on level hard surface then see if it will pull it that way. IF it has no problem handling it, set wheels higher or put the other 2 shanks on.

I've pulled a 7 shank with my 185. No trouble on power, but I have just barely enough traction with loaded tires.

D-19 gas, or diesel?

|
I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

So probably if you had plenty of traction, you’d be low on power! ![]() |

We ran a D19 for years loved it but no way it would have pulled that chisel plow in our red clay,Take off half the shanks to start with.I had a 5 tooth chisel I pulled with the 190XT I owned and the 190 had all it wanted.

I can't answer your question, but I have one of my own. I assume it's a 3-point. Has it been partially unbolted and folded down for some reason, or does the top link pin do double duty?

The biggest tractor the guy had when he was farming was a 4020 diesel. I am now wondering if it was too much for the 4020 and that is why some shanks are missing.
Thanks to everyone for humoring me. I may buy it to cut it down into something smaller if the price is right.
