I have a series4 d17 that will sometimes pop out of high range if I hit a big bump or crack in the road it will pop out. Is there any adjustment or is the power director just wearing out. It works fine otherwise. Thanks for any help.

Your issue is wear on the 3 rollers and 3 ramps on the preload plate in the high side of your power director.   You can't really adjust for that, they need to be replaced.   If you adjust shims to make it tighter on the high side, it might pop out worse I'm guessing.  Here's are some pics of where wear occurs on the pre-load plate.  I had to replace this high side preload plate and all the rollers on my Series IV and after Don(MO) did the work for me it is GREAT.   Mike

Well, start by removing the stop bolt that the hand lever rests against when it's in high range. Then, see what you have.

My stop bolt has sever ral washers behind it. How many are supposed to be there?

However many or few to allow FULL engagement of the lever all the way forward in the high side.  Pull the bolt out, put it in high then add bolt & adjust washers so it doesn't restrict it from going all the way in the high side.   Mike

And make sure the lock bolt on the bottom of the arm is tight. Loosen the lock nut and tighten the bolt.

I see my finger prints all over this. lol
3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.
