I need some help on truly identifying a new project. Serial number on bell housing is D17 13216. I have found that to be a 1958 from research but it seems to be wearing a series IV gas tank, 1966 I believe. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know nothing about the A/C’s going into this. Thanks!!

Ignore the decals! There are many early D17s out there wearing series IV decals. Some of these tractors have been painted several times over the past 50 years. |

Series IV are easy to identify. The hydraulic pump is where the belt pully went on early models.

Early D-17 gas tractors had a fuel tank issue. Some of them cracked on the bottom and got replaced with a newer tank with a wide strap across the top to the steering column. This was to reduce vibration and shaking which was what was causing the tank failures.

Edited a second time, because I'm an idiot and posted in the wrong tab on my phone. I'm sorry. I just got my first D17 so I'm reading all that I can!
