Just got a D17 ser IV that had been sitting for some time. Lift arms will not come down even with weight on them. You can see that it wants to lift but then does not release. Any thoughts on what to look for. Thanks

The traction booster linkage is seized up with rust just ahead of the valve body. Take is apart, clean and oil everything up and you should not have any problems. A common problem for tractors this age (especially when they sit outside).

Look at the traction booster valve linkage, somebody probably moved the lever to the max position and the linkage stuck holding the valve in. so spray your favorite penetrant on and get the linkage all loose under there.
