I have a leak, which appears to be coming from the top of the fuel filter canister. I don't think there is a washer on the top of the bolt on the filter to the left in the picture. Is there suppose to be? Will this stop the leak? Any other ideas/suggestions? Thanks, Dave

I think there should be a copper or nylon washer used on the bolt, but would have to check parts book or one of mine to confirm.
Or... To fix the leak you could sell me the tractor... ![]() Edited by Travis(NE) - 06 Jun 2012 at 12:49am |

I just did my D-19D, and there were two rubber washers on the old and with the new filters. One was on the bottom and one on the top. I had a little trouble with mine leaking also, but I did not have the new gasket right on the top of the canister. Straightened that out it did not leak again. Hope this helped. rrhead(SD)

The little thick rubber washers that came with the secondary filter go on top and bottom of the filter or fuel will bypass the filter. There should be a copper or nylon washer under the head of the cap screw that is on the top front of the filter housing.
The following picture is from a D19 owners manual and it is a little fuzzy. Cap screw is #9 and washer is #8. The two thick rubber washers are #5 above and bellow filter #4. ![]() Hope this helps |

This one is an original and is a fiber material.
![]() ![]() I "think" it was replaced by a copper one and then later with a nylon washer. |

Well, Travis, the washer on the bolt seems to be what I'm missing. Don't know if I misplaced it when changing the fuel filters, or if never was there. I'll have to get one of them and see if that solves my problem. Thanks, Dave
