I recently purchased a series IV gas D17. It has a factory 3pt. hitch that works fine as does the traction booster system. I can't get any pressure when I hook a hydraulic cylinder to the remaining valve. What should I look for?
Thanks,
Jim/Wisconsin

You say the remaining valve. Is there two plugs on back for cylinder or four? Is there two or three lever to your right and two behind that? MACK

If you are able to connect the hose or hoses, you may not have the correct tip type for the tractors couplers.

I only have one lever for the remote cylinder, not two. I separated the couplers from the tractor and the hose, connected them and was able to blow through them. So I don't think the couplers are the problem. Is there a shutoff that may be closed?

So you have one lever for 3pt and one lever for remote on right side of tractor. Will the 3pt lift a load? When you pull the remote lever do you hear it load the engine or make a squall noise at the valves? MACK

The 3pt. lifts fine, in fact i've plowed successfully with a3-16 mounted plow. When I work the lever for the hydraulic cylinder I do hear a squealing noise.

Sooo, work your hydraulic lever with no hoses connected to the tractor, and pay attention to the noise and how hard the engine labors. Then, after you connect both hoses, work the lever again. If you have the same noise and engine labor, you have the wrong tips on your hoses.
