4.5 gallon max fuel use per hour.  Tank holds 19 gallons.  RTV is a band-aid, you will need to replace the gasket for a long term fix.

The harder you work the tractor, the more it is going to drink.  I think the tank is close to 20 gallons, but do not know the real number.

AGCO sells the gasket for the gas guage - no RTV needed.

A decent 17 running in street clothes that is a series 1 2 or 3 should bring about 3 grand depenging on tinwork and gear jumping.  A series 4, no telling, they go crazy from 3 to 6 grand.

don't bother w/ RTV. i did that and now i have chunks of orange flecks in the sediment bowl.
tank capacity is either 19 or 21. whatever it is, our old car was the other....i guess i'm getting old enough to get easily confused.

Way back we used a D17 gas to pull a 4-14" moldboard plow.  It would burn close to 40 gallons in a 10 hour day.  Gas was around 45-50 cents a gallon then so ran the tractor for $20/day.

RTV will dissolve in gas in a matter of maybe 1 minute. Just pull the gauge and run to the hardware or auto parts store and get an o ring that fits around the gauge. Where it seals to the tank it's round.

19 gallon tank.
The tractor should burn a maximum of 4 gallons per hour under heavy plowing.
