I traded a WD for one of those many moons ago. Traded the 17Dsl for a bobcat 530 and the bobcat was great to have but the 17Dsl has been missed. Really smooth power from the 6 cylinder engine.

That is the correct grille if the tractor was made in 1957/58.  The aluminum nameplates that your tractor has were used in the years 1961/62.

I wonder what it was used for, very narrow rear tires, front lights mounted on the frame instead of the front of the hood? Good looking old gal. I've owned a series 4 d since 1975. Would hate to be without it. Hope you like it as much as I like mine.

The guy that had it used it to mow and bail hay for 12 years. When he got it it was not all together, mostly wiring. He just put them lights on there since he did not have the originals.

I have a series 1 diesel and it's by far my favorite. Remember to always let it warm up fully before going to work and then let it idle to cool down after working and it will live a long happy life.

Looks nice. Never had a diesel but I love my d17 gas. Should be a great project to get it just how you want. I would repair the old fenders I wasn't at all happy with the new d17 fenders I bought. I put them on a loader work tractor but they still have too many defects for me to be happy with.

Did the plow come with the tractor? I saw the tractor on craiglist. But it was to late to call that night and the ad was gone the next day.

The fender on the right side is complete shot there's no fixing it, the po made brackets to hold the fenders in place because it's so rusted out. You can almost stick your fist through 2 spots. The other side is nothing but bonds from previous repairs. May just try to find to good used ones.

The plow did not, I bought it at a sale in southern ohio last month for $135. It's a 4 bottom semi mount. Was going to post a picture of it hooked to the plow but haven't had time. It is the tractor on Craigslist.

You could start with a flat steal and make a better fender then the ones made in india. Maybe you can find a second fender and make one good one out of the two.
