The guy said its supposed to run and turns over. I am not as well versed in the D17 diesel as the gas so what do you guys think it is worth?
The good: Black Bar grill Straight Sheet metal Good original paint factory 3-spool hyd valve by left fender Has side panels Water pump is on head The Bad: One shifter fork is broken, replacement included power Director doesn't stay in High or Low No power steering No 3pt, just Snap Coupler Fluid filled rear rims are OK 16.9-28 tires checked but average |

What is your plan for the tractor? Hopefully Don in Montana will chime in he is an expert on these. But it is my understanding that the d17 diesel motor is very expensive to rebuild and most have major issues. Just going on what I have read on here. It seems to me people love them but they are considered more of a collectors tractor then a work tractor.
To fix the high low you will have to split the tractor I have done it in my d17 gas not too bad a job I don't remember the price of the clutches. |

$3000 would buy any one like that one, that didn't need work. Start deducting from there for the labor involved to get it working again. |

1000-1500. Yes they are very expensive to overhaul. I think it was Don Bradley that said you need $5K to go through a basket case. I would agree. I spent $3K on mine but was lucky that the head was in very good condition. Only the machine shop work was farmed out, I did the rest of it myself.
