The positive battery cable broke on my D-17 Series II. It was only about 9 years old. Anyway, I drove to Napa rather than call AGCO this time. Napa looked at it and said we don't handle one like that, however we can build one just like it. So, that is what they did from scratch. Ran about $15 for all the parts. Seems this was cheaper than the AGCO cable.
Is this the better route on these older tractors? Thanks in advance for any thoughts. I did get it installed and the old girl fired right up with no issues.

EP,
I had some heavy long cables made up by NAPA for my trailer battery down to the winch. Saved me many dollars and got custom lengths. They had the tooling and ends to make a nice neat job of that project. Regards, Chris |

Is the battery terminal end molded on or did they use those two screw compression terminals where the cable joins the terminal?

Good morning. Excuse my ignorance on this subject; but, what does "melt the pellets" mean? Ross.

NAPA will sell you positive or negative battery terminal ends and eyelet ends. I ususally use my vise to hold whatever end I am working on. Strip the insulation on the wire and then drop a solder pellet that you get at NAPA into the terminal. Heat the pellet till it melts and install the stripped cable. After it cools I manually crimp again with the hammer type crimper. Then if you haven't forgotten to slide your heat shrink on seal up the terminal to wire connection. You now have an excellent battery cable.
