Finally got my 82S on my D17. Oh how nice it is to have power steering unlike my WD. Happy day for me.

Thanks Mike, have a long ways to go but hopefully the end result will be nice. Need to get a good muffler for it. That shorty puts diesel smoke right in my face while driving lol. I have a sticker on my truck that says” I love the smell of diesel smoke first thing in the morning”. But I don’t like to choke on it.

Robbie, i dont know why, but sometimes the pictures seem to rotate 90 degrees when you install them... I keep the photos on my computer desk top... I just open them in PAINT and then ROTATE and SAVE as a different NAME... Then download again.. I have had that happen several times.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

You are going to love your mower.
The Hi-Lo range and power steering on a D-17 makes it ideal for cutting square corners without stopping which most mid-mount mowers can't easily do.
Back in the early 70s my neighbor used to let me borrow his D-17 and 82S in the fall to "clean up" around my place.                                                                                                                                                                                                                        It wasn't until many years later I was able to get myself an 82S but I had to mount it on a WD-45 as I hadn't yet gotten a D-17. I picked up a D-17 a few years ago still haven't transferred the mower over but it s on my "to do" list.  
Since I use my mower mainly for 'trimming" and mow around alot of scrub apple trees and such, I cut the bar down to 5-1/2' and tweeked the linkage so the mower lifts to full upright position with the hydraulics.

Fired up the D-14 with power steering and the 82S mower for two miles of rod ditch bank mowing. Great improvement over the WD-45 with the 80R mower. Added a second hydraulic cylinder to lift the cutter bar fully vertical

The side mount 82S saves my neck. I had neck surgery 6 years ago and I do not have full movement anymore. So seeing the mower with only a slight turn of my neck is the main reason I wanted it. After using it on my WD it surpassed my expectations. Just needed power steering with 650 lbs hanging off the side. Now I have PS and high and low which makes it a perfect combination.

Can't say for a fact, but I don't think so. And I would think that would be too much weight to add to middle of a D-10.
 I just want to trim around the edge of our pond a couple times a year. A 3 point would be easier to mount.

My D-10 has a 3-point. It looks like the R-80 is for the Snap-Coupler.

My dad purchased it new in 1968 along with a D15.

Ours has extra pads welded to the skid plate as it wore thru. I had to replace all the sickle hold downs and wear plate as well as the guards. $200+ just for that.
I need to replace the sickle drive hickey puck thing with the groves in it as it's worn also.
Be care of getting worn out stuff!

Spent part of the day spreading her legs....ya know losing the locks and spinning the wheels out to give her a better stance and stability. With 650 lbs hanging off the side, the wider the better. Also spent 4 hrs drilling and removing broken bolts holding the side panels on. Ahhhh, never a fun job.

Mowed some more today. The diesel runs well with no leaks. Even the injection pump isn’t leaking at the banjos anymore. Previous owner only used it on his generator and would start it to keep the battery charged up. Since I’ve put a few hours on it even the power steering is working smoother. Someone put ATF in it instead of oil. Not sure if I should go back to oil or leave it?

Pretty sure my D-17 had ATF in the power steering. I think that is the correct fluid for them.
