My 1965 Gas D15 Series II is jumping out of 3rd gear. Where is the best place to purchase parts to repair the problem? Local mechanics tell me it maybe difficult to find the parts, but I know enough people on this forum has dealt with the same problem and parts must be available. Thanks in advance!

Aftermarket parts are available.  I have bought parts from my local AGCO dealer.  Sandy Lake is also a good place.  Seen gears in the DJS catalogue as well.
For your fix you will need the gear, collar and input shaft bearings at the very least.  You won't know for sure until you get the transmission torn in to a million pieces and inspect everything.

Be best to have an original service manual or legible copy unless you know what you're doing. I&T's are not "complete" generally.

Get a sheet or large piece of cardboard and when you disassemble the tranny, use a sharpie to label each.

3rd and Reverse should be replaced at the same time if I remember right.

CoastGA:  Aside from the excellent guidance above, drain the transmission, flush the case with Kero until its clean.  After the case is clean inside inspect carefully with drop light to evaluate damage.  Recommend while your in there take a look at the other gears as well.

The service manual for the tractor is a good starting point to flesh out the replacement of the gears.
