I am using a d15 gas wiring harness to rewire a diesel. The voltage regulator on the diesel is mounted on the generator. The gas wire harness wires for the regulator will not reach that location. Where was the voltage regulator mounted on a d15 gas? This is a series 1.

Thanks for your response. I thought that might be the case, but couldn't see any mounting holes. I wonder if the panel might be different for the gas. I'll do some more checking. Thanks again!

Diesels were mounted on the generator itself. Series 1 gas had the regulator under the fuel tank behind the starter. Series 2s had the regulator ahead of the starter on the left side. Several vendors do make wiring harnesses for the D15 diesel. I bought one from B&B Custom Circuits for my D15 diesel a couple of years ago. |

Thank you for your reply! I tried several antique tractor parts suppliers, but they all said their suppliers no longer make one for the diesel, so I gave up on that. Since my tractor no longer had the the original air heater and the wiring had already been modified, I thought I would try to make the gas harness work. I will keep the vendor information you gave, in case this doesn't work out. I really don't want to spend another $250.00 for another one. This tractor has been converted to negative ground, but I don't think other necessary changes have been made. I understand that the wires on the amp gauge need to be reversed and something about polarizing the generator. Can you shed any light on that? Thanks again!
