    Posted: 26 Apr 2012 at 11:38am
I have a D-15 series II gas that I would like to install some front weights. What do I need to purchase to install the weights? I beleive I would need some type of bracket,  and maybe a rod along with the weights.
Also, where is th best (least expensive) place to purchase these parts? I want to keep my tractor original.

There was just a listing of 4 slab weights in Iowa for $350 but they were gone right away. You can buy reproduction slab weights. The only other "correct" weights would be the doughnut weights for the front wheels.
repro weights: http://www.steinertractor.com/ACS180-front-weight
This page also has the weight bracket needed and the rods needed. Gonna have a good chunk of change involved here for "original" look.

Deep pockets!  Hard to find, VERY expensive when you do find them.

I've got the front wheel weights on mine, they really help.

If you're needing alot of extra weight, try putting a tube in the front tires and filling them with fluid! That'll add alot of weight, probably more than my wheel weights would.

Good luck.

1953 CA, it looks like your air cleaner end cap is sitting on the distributor and governor.

Just in case I can find originals, What years and models are the weights interchangable with the D-15 series II?

The slab weights are all the same.

The mounting is different from one tractor to another and the mounts are on the Stiener site.

Looks good but it makes it kind of hard to check the power steering fluid.
