Does the 160 engine utilize the same valve kit as the 138 & 149 engines?  Conflicting data out there on the internet.  I was at the Agco dealer today and he did not even have a listing for it, Agco or aftermarket (tru-power).  Thanks for any and all replies in advance.

Yes, they are all the same.  Even the B, C, and CA use the same valves, springs, guides, and locks.

So just looking in the I & T manual, and it shows the spring free length is longer on a D15 @ 2 31/64 vs the D14 @ 2 5/16?   I have a valvetrain kit I bought for a CA and never used previously.  I was thinking I could use this kit, but am a little concerned about using the springs from the kit.   The manual also states the spring pressure in the D15 is a bit more at the two compressed spring lengths - 14 and 20 pounds more at the two compressed lengths, respectively.  ??

If you run high enough RPM to make the valves float with the CA kit, you'll probably have something else come apart, maybe out the side of the blockConfused Use the kit you have.

10-4.  Just going to use this gal to rake hay, and teach my kid tractor basics.  Definitely not looking to turn the wick up on her.  I grew up using a D15, and was really excited to pick one up.  She sat for a while, and we intend to completely rebuild it front to back.  Thanks for your reply, I appreciate it.
