Has anyone rebuilt a D-14 oil pump and find that some pumps have a ball, spring and a pin in the rotor shaft and some do not use them

The ball and spring is the relief valve and was in the pump on the b,c,ca. The relief valve was moved to the front of the cam shaft on the D14 so there is no ball and spring in the pump.
