 Topic: D14 lock loader in up position to use 3pt?

What is the easiest way to use the 3pt (or snap coupler) without removing my front end loader?
Is there some type of shut off I can put between the quick connector?

All my D-14s have a quick connect coupling to send oil to the loader cylinders. I raise loader up about 2 feet, block the loader rams, gently lower loader,then disconnect the quick connect fitting. After that only the rear lifts up.....

I used 3 2by4s cut about 1' long, screwed into a 'U'.... I've welded 2" angle iron into 'U'... I think the rams are 1.5" and you want a close fit...but NOT tight, might scrape the rods....

I never realized we had a Redneck Section here in Ontario LOL
Is that a Subsection of Hamilton ?
There is a much easier way, where you just flip a Lever while sitting in the tractor seat.
It is called a 'Diverter Valve'. Get them at TSC.
I have one on my WD and one on my D-12.
Plump them in to the Hydraulic Lines.

Allis offered a "Selector Valve " which let you select between the lift arms or the remote ram .

On My series 2 d-15, I just put a gate valve on the bottom left hand side , where the supply line comes in. raise loader, a little, close valve, use 3 point. Technically I didn't put the valve on, it was on the loader, that I bought on a d-14, when I switched it over, I just left it there!

@Gary.... I'm more of a 'bodger' than a 'redneck'....lol. My SIL lives in Mamora, niece in Peterborough and I have an open shed that needs a D12........
as for the 'easier' way.. A diverter valve would cost me money...,AND it'd have to be plumbed in and I'd have to figger it out.....AND I didn't know TSC actually stocked TRACTOR parts !!! The two near here only have bird feed and toy green tractors for sale... for hydraulics I go to Princess Auto....

I'm curious about your Gate Valve too.
I believe the line you are referring to is the pressure line going to the rear lift-arms cylinder inside the differential.
That would be the hyd. line to install a Diverter Valve to divert the oil to either the Loader or the Rear Lift Arms.

Grandpa used a hammer to keep the loader raised on his D-14 when he wanted to use the Oxnard blade to clean the hog pens. How you ask? with the loader raised, he would use a hammer on the disconnect coupling to unhook the loader hose from the distribution block at the rear of the tractor. Coupler popped out, loader stayed up, what more could you ask for? Then when he wanted to use the loader, he would stick the hose coupling in the disconnect and smack it with a hammer to force it into the quick coupler and simultaneously release the lock. Loader worked again, didn't need no fancy valve. Of course, this abuse caused the coupling to leak after a time, no problem though, he had plenty of used motor oil to replenish the hydraulic oil level. There's your farmer fix for today. :-)

Nope, just a simple 1/2" npt gate valve, on the supply hose, to the loader, before the line for the second cyl tees into it. Raise the loader, close the valve, and use the 3 point, as designed. The way the lines are plumbed, the priority goes to the arms, first, then the remote. If the remote is blocked(valve closed), then it operates, as normal...

make SURE teh 'simple valve' is good for 5000# !!! A D-14 will pump 3500#..so don't put a common water shutoff valve in there !!
