 Topic: D14 and 3 bottom value

I have an option to purchase a 1959 D14 with a front loader and rear scraper as well as a AC 3 bottom plow. Tractor is functional but has been outside for about 20 yrs and looks rough. Same for the plow. I am wondering what a fair offer would be in your opinion? The seller is sort of a friend who is selling due to health reasons and will consider offers and I want something fair to both of us. Thoughts? He is also selling an old Krause 4 row disk but as this is a AC forum I will try to ask about that elsewhere unless someone has recently purchased one or has an idea on that.

How does it run? Have you driven it? Three big factors that can affect the value are does the transmission jump out of gear (usually 2nd or 3rd) What are the rear rims like? As it has a loader on it it is real likely they are filled with fluid, look at area around valve stems. What shape are the tires in? New rubber is expensive. If you give us more info someone may throw out a figure.

It runs and does not jump out of gear in 2nd or 3rd as many are known to do. It runs fine, starts a little hard and battery does not recharge well. Rubber is not new, front tires are quite old but I do not see many cracks and all 4 hold air. Rears are not worn or cracked but definitely not new either. I do not believe the rims have fluid in them, rims are not very bad shape, minimal rust. Loader frame as 1 weld but looks straight and well done.

Power steering works and it had a new clutch installed about 5 or 6 yrs ago.

Somewhere between 1500 to 3000 without seeing it . Check clutch pedal 'diamonds'. If well worn, she's seen a lot of loader use. Also check from rims as heavy weight/use will fracture them at the 'bolt circle' due to stress. Not charging could be in need of a genny rebuild though I'd just put a CS-130 in it.
I'm kinda partial to the D-14, probably offer $2000, be happy to deal at $2500 IF it has power steering ! Without it, using the loader WILL develop your arm muscles !!!
Also , check the brakes !! When the diff axle seals leak, there goes your brake shoes. Yeah I've got 3 D-14 and one brake out of 6.... 'it's on the todo list'.......

If it looks rough (banged up/missing sheet metal), no more than 1500 for everything.

Pictures would really help here .Can you post any ? Would help a lot . You also mention a 3 bottom plow but do not offer a description . Is it field ready or scrap man special ?

If you have a use for that d14 it's worth whatever your willing to pay within reason. You can't buy a new tractor equal to that d14 to use without breaking the bank in my opinion. Depends on your location for price. You wouldn't buy that tractor around here for $1,500. I would venture to say $3,000 or more in my area. Look on tractorhouse.com
