Yesterday I went to visit a gentleman who was a close friend of my father.  He had told me he had a D-12 he was going to haul off for scrap.  I told him I would buy it.  He said since my dad was such a good friend to him I could have it.  Well we go to look at it and he says it was running when he parked it and it has been in a shed.  It looks really good.  Everything is there except the little side panels and the draw bar is broken.  I couldn't believe my good luck.  I couldn't read the serial number, it was too dark in the shed.  It has a snap coupler.  Any idea on the series it might be.  Thanks,  Johnny

You can't get much luckier than that.

Got to know the serial # to know the series. It doesn't get any better than free though. The side panels you ought to be able to get from Steiner's.

Thanks guys, It may be a few weeks before I can pick it up.  I'm a high school Agriculture teacher plus trying to run our farm by myself since my dad passed away three years ago.

Yes Darrel, we have done that in the past.  My school is going through a huge renovation
and our shop is messed up because of the construction.  I've been doing this for 34 years.  I think it's time I retire to the farm and enjoy my cows and work on old tractors.  If we got better insurance when we retire I would.  I could also go to more tractor shows and visit great places like North Dakota.  Johnny
