Well I've e-mailed Illini and Sandylake about price and availability of the above and have not heard back. If anyone out there has one they would like to sell please PM me price and postal cost.

Cost for shipping was almost as much as the cost of the part. I think I'll be spending some time in the machine shop modifying a CA retainer. If anyone's interested I could photo document the process  .

I wanna see this. I have a CE engine that needs rebuilt so would be real interested. Might have to do it myself:)

Michel, thanks for the response PM me your asking price and postage and I'll send you a cheque or whatever you prefer.
Fred, I'd rather not mention Sandy Lake's price. I noticed a rather lengthy privacy & conditions statement and although I didn't read it all, I figure I'll be discrete.

We'll , not that anybody was interested, but I finally separated the CA only to find that the ruberized cork crank seal was not to blame. Laugh at me as you wish but I had not torqued the pan bolts enough so it was just seeping from there.
Lots learned by me, some learned by you about me ( tail between legs, hiding in the corner)
Steve

The CA is back together, still runs like a charm, unbelievable oil pressure (middle of the guage) and no more oil leaks. Closer inspection had shown some seepage from the oil filter to block casting so I tightened those two bolts also.
The engine seems to have lots of pep, this is the one I milled the head 0.100"  after I installed the reground crank, I think it's gonna serve me well.
Now I'm onto the front mounting of the snowblower.

Sounds like a good deal Steve. Glad is was because you didn't tighten the bolts enoughrather than overtighten them. That can sometimes lead to lifetime oil leaks, especially in that area. Front mount snowblower might take a little headscratching, but we have faith in you.

That oil filter housing can be a real pan to stop leaks. Someone on here filled the "pockets" on the back side with epoxy so you have a solid surface with more area for the gasket to seal. The die cast housings are prone to twist with over torquing. A few minutes with a file and you can get her back flat again.
