D10 Restoration Tires

   Guys, it's time for me to buy some new tires for my D10 restoration. I want to buy new tires (not interested in used) and the front tires are pretty easy to find and are affordable.

My issue is not really knowing what I need for the rears. The tires that came off are labeled 12.4 - 24 on 11" rim. There is also a directional arrow and R-1 labeled on it.

This tractor will never see field work again but it will do a parade or two and some tractor shows. 

I am looking for some opinions on what I should buy, where I should buy it and what do you think I should pay.

I am also interested in learning what those numbers really mean. I think the 24 is an absolute number that I need to match but the 12.4 is probably a variable width. Does the 11" rim limit me to certain widths of tires?

I have never purchased tractor tires before so any wisdom you can share will be appreciated.

	12.4 is the section width of the mounted tire. 24 is the diameter of the rim its mounted on. You must have a 24" tire on a 24" rim.11" is the width between the beads on the rim. Recommended tire width for that rim is 12.4. I'd stick with the same size tire. Nebraska tire has the listed in a R1 tire for 225 per tire. I personally try to get mine locally since it's about $100 per tire to get them shipped. Youll want new tubes also around here if I buy tires at the local dealer they will get me tube at a reasonable price and in the past have always mounted for free.if you ring a tire in its $100 to mount one. Make sure your rims are cleaned and painted at least on the inside.ive had mine completely painted when I drop them off to get mounted and think that works the best.

	Try looking at M.E.Miller's website. They have a lot of info, there, Style of tire is a 45º angle cleat. Brand could be GY, FS, or BFG, if you want the original look. Miller will also bring the tires near to you, if you have a show near you, and you get the tire order in early enough...
