    Posted: 24 Oct 2011 at 7:56pm
I have a guy that wants to buy one of my D 21's. I am selling one to get 2 other tractors to finish some gaps in the collection.

Here my Dilema

I have a series 1 D 21 with 3 point and pto. 3400 block but turboed. Runs a litttle rough. (Need injection pump) great sheet metal, chrome grill , weights etc. etc. Serial number 500 something.

I have a series 2 D 21 with 3 point and pto, runs good, about 650 hrs on clutch and pump. Good sheet metal, started weights and weights.  1967 OR 68 creme grill.

He has new tires front and back and I am putting may pops on it to get it there.

I am thinking of keeping the series 1 because there is less made than the series 2 and it was bought new where one of my other D 21's sold new in Idaho.

SO

Would you guys keep the series 1 or series 2 tractor.

I figure the same price on both.

Thanks in advanced, Darryl
B 10 Custom. Serial # 1001 D21, First D21 built 69 #4498 and Last D 21 Built #4609. 1946 MM UTU. And 2000, 2005 Pete's. AC custom Hauling.

I'd keep the series one based on what you said. But although I love D-21s and the big stuff, I don't know near what you other guys do...

I thought that you could never have too many D-21's.  A unmolested D-21 series I is becoming a rare tractor. If you could get everything to make it originial again, I'd keep the series I.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

round here everyone wants the series 2 with a chrome grill, what size of rubber and tires, tha tmakes a big difference,  I think there are less series 2 than series 1 if im correct?   Does the series 1 have the factory  turbo up grade, with all proper piping and the new hood?  That is a pretty rare find if it does

Most people only pay attention to the Series II tractors, it all depends on weather you want to sell one or not. If you are going to keep it forever it doesnt matter, but if you ever want to sell it needs to be the series II, same goes for the D15's

I like the Series II better (I think I have a thing for turbos).  That said, with as many D-21's as you have, I'd probably sell the Series II and keep the Series I.  You are a collector, remember?

Unless the series 1 has the original hood, with the trap door, and non turbo. It isnt really original,in my opinion. But who am I to say.....lol  I really dont consider any D21 rare, other then the FWA model unaccounted for.  There were alot more 21's then probably 210 and 220s  put together.
