Pulled mine as I could see some rust/dirt in the bottom of the glass . Screen looks clean to me . Guess this crud is fine enough to go thru the screen ? Old gasket is rubber and I can't get it to seal . Do you fellas prefer cork or rubber ? THANKS !

Any time i have opened up a sediment bowl i  always put a new gasket in. Either one will work .  Have never been able to reuse a old gasket.

i bought a box of 6 rubber gaskets on e-bay for just a few $$.... Have used a couple so far.. Always good to have a couple setting around as spares.
Like them all, but love the "B"s.

You can grind copper and steel pipes into 'gasket punches' and make your own, providing you KNOW where YOU put YOUR gasket material sheets....
..., I have NO idea where mine are hiding...sigh

Sounds like the sediment bowl is doing exactly what it is designed to do. Sediment/debris is stopped by the screen and has settled to the bottom along with any water. Screen doesn't have to be plugged to do the job.

Agree with Doc. Fuel flows from the tank through the center of the fitting then up through the screen to carb line. Water and silt left to drop to the bottom of the bowl. As for leaking, dry fit the bowl to the base. If it rocks back and forth then the fitting is warped and sealing will be difficult even with a new gasket. BTDT

If you can't get it to seal up, the main body of the sediment bowl has been warped by overtightening. There is a reason that the only have knurling or small bumps on the tightening nut. Pliers are not supposed to be used, however that is mostly want happens and why older ones don't seal up.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits.
If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

When your putting the bowl back on, just as it's starting to seat, twist the bowl and that will help it to seat and seal.

Not sure , I'd say it's a small and short bowl ? It's about 2" diameter and 1" tall .

No answer to your question, but the WORST bowl to seal IMO was on the XT190 Unhappy.  On a different flip of the coin, I've removed/cleaned the bowl on the F2 countless times using the same gasket and never had an issue

The right one on a 190 isn't to bad but the left one is a real pain. I reuse mine many times. When I got the tractor I had to clean the bowl at least daily. It's the only tractor that sits outside. So I'm constantly drawing water from them. The cab is 6" to tall to fit thru the door.

Sadly, it was the R/H bowl that gave grief, but I think there was another factor involved (dad). Ended up replacing the entire assembly as no gasket would seal Embarrassed. All is well since Smile.
