Troy, my #1 D-14, has a blob of braze that 'replaced' the original pin. You only need it if you have to keep the pump running, not for regular lifting. Jay

I put 'carrying chains' on my D-14s. Just a 4' section of 5/16" chain with a grab hook on one end. I loop it through the horizontal bar of the seat support so it's always onboard. I use it to keep the rototiller or plow up during transport. Jay

The carry chain option eliminates the need for the pump to continuously run when transporting heavy implements. It also minimizes the strain on the hydraulic lines/fittings. I had a chain hook welded to the top link bracket to hook the carry chain into.

The lift/lower lever has a "hold" position at the half-way point. There is no need to leave the lever locked in the up/pumping position and you shouldn't. The operators manual clearly says once the implement is raised to the desired height, place the lift/lower lever in the hold position. If the implement settles in the hold position, there is something wrong with the hold valve, internal hose or packing on the lift arm cylinder.

Out in the shop now and I see that the manual says the windows are for lowering and raising . Guess when it's not worn out you don't have to hold the lever up . Thanks
