Finally got a chance to do some touch up maintenance on my recently acquired D 15. Was the series II originally 12 volt positive ground? The new ammeter I installed is not showing that the generator is charging but the battery seems to be doing okay. I will get my meter out and do some trouble shooting when I get time. The wiring behind the instrument panel is a mess. I ordered a new temp guage (ouch!) and new oil pressure guage.

Thanks for the replies. I thought that was the original set up. This is the first D series I have worked with. I do have a service manual ordered so that should help educate me somewhat. This tractor has been repainted but definitely not restored. The spark plug wires look like a bird nest over the distributor, probably close to 3 feet in length on each one. They are being replaced.
