Back in Jan before my son and I got my D 15 (gas) running the comp on 3 cylinders was 60 - 70 . One was about 150-160 . Probably put maybe a couplehours on it since . I checked the comp today and all 4 cylinders are about 150 . Guess a little run time helped it out . My question is it still doesn't seem to have any power . I did a complete tune up and rebuilt the carb . What should I check next ? THANKS !!

Did you check your rpms at full throttle? If there low maybe Stretched out governor spring?

High rpms between 2175 to 2225 is where it should be..

Check the air filter and possible fuel bowl screen clogged are probably the most simple things. Another thing is sticking valves but if your compression is good I doubt that’s the case.

Should have said this is a Series 1 . Also that I've already pulled the gas tank and cleaned it out , and I have a new sediment bowl and screen . Lastly I've tried running with the air filter hose off . Made no difference . Glen , I sent you a message . THANKS to all !!

With a compression of 150 all you need for horse power is a proper fuel air mix and spark at the proper time. The spark has to be at the proper time at the different engine speeds. After reading what you checked I would check the distributor advance for movement. You should be able to remover the distributor cam and feel the advance movement by twisting the rotor back and fourth feeling the spring pulling it back.

Setting up the carburetor would be to get the slow idle set to where it will slow idle and when taken to wide open quickly it does so smoothly. When the idle is set open the throttle wide open and adjust the power jet needle to the highest RPM possible the turn the needle back in until you detect a slight lower RPM. Then try it out.

I suspect a out of adjustment carburetor or a sticky or frozen advance.

Pulled the sediment bowl today . Screen was clean , had some rust? in the glass bowl that I cleaned out . I have a timing light , not sure how to check the timing on this tractor . Done it a few times on old Chevys . I did recheck the firing order Gary . THANKS for all the advice

That would be about right. Not running the advance would be in TDC position if it is static timed at TDC. As the RPM's come up it will advance with the centrifugal force from the spinning.

I don't understand the tapping and where you talking about.

To use your timing light you can get the power from the battery direct with the other wire to number one plug. The light has to point to the timing marks. You can check static TDC by hand cranking the engine slowly.
