Have a 1962 D 12 that has been in storage for years. Very good original condition tractor. Have had it running, needs carb cleaning/rebuild. Hydraulic lifts strong, the arms are stiff when lowering. Have been taking them up and pulling down. Seem s to be a bit less resistance each time. Is this a lift cylinder issue or possibly in the spool valve ? Snap Coupler with Traction Control.

If there is no weight on the arms, it might just be old dry packing on the cylinder rod that is dragging... Might help to spray a few drops of penetrant on the extended shaft before you raise back up.

Like them all, but love the "B"s.
