Ok...some of y'all might think I'm crazy...and I probably am... but here goes....I'm a purist. I like to leave everything as much original as I can (Unless change is absolutely necessary) That said, my Super 100 looks almost new, except for some reason, most of the decals have disintegrated. I would like to find a place to custom make 3 of the decals (The diamond decal for the radiator air stack, the "Allis-Chalmers" strip for the feeder house, and the "All-Crop" decal with the 100 at the bottom), except make them magnets instead, that way they can be taken on and off. Crazy right? That's how much of a purist I am. No permanent change, just something to dress it up.
Anyone know how I could go about getting this done? I would guess there is surely a way to print a photo onto a strong, flat magnet (like the little 4"x5" calendars with all the months on it you sometimes get for your ice box) It may not be possible, since I only need 3 (and they're all different), and most custom places make you order at least 50 or so.

I've had them made at places that make signs. not that expensixe to do. just show them pics, and what size you want, and colors...they can make them for you! they will print pics out on their computer for your approval before making the finished product.

Shameless is right again..(don't get a swelled head now...))
ANY good sign shop can make them up and yes can be pricey BUT talk nice and you may get a break... say it's another area THEY can promote on their website, makes them more business ! Reminds me I have a whole roll of business card magnet somewhere in the shop..... that I can't figure out WHAT to do with.... Jay |

Jay, don't go giving Shameless a swelled head, he has enough problems with that now. But he is correct.

Thanks guys! We do have a sign place in town. They've got a pretty good reputation. I'll see if I can get some good photos of the decals I need and hopefully they can make something happen.

Basically print on your color laser printer on paper, then glue to repurposed refrigerator magnet sheets. Likely you can buy thin refrigerator magnet material with a self adhesive face surface by the square foot on epay quite reasonably. If you don't have a color laser printer, your local library probably does or a printing place that prints advertising brochures will do single sheets reasonably. Ink jet may not stand up to a rain shower or heavy dew though it might be covered with thin clear self adhesive clear plastic.

Hi. I have been using local sign shops for over 36 years to produce magnetic signs for various uses. Our truck signs worked great, even at 120 k.p.h. I use some, on various pieces of equipment, so that I can remove them and they do not get weathered. I can use them for other applications. Note that the surface that you want to attach them to, must be clean and smooth. I usually clean the magnetic signs and apply Armour All. Also, you can not leave them on for extended periods of time as they will adhere to the surface like glue, and then you will not be able to remove them cleanly. ( like removing a well adhered bandaid, you will pull hair and skin with it). Ross.
