I looked at that 15 and passed I believe it has possible flywheel issues and not quite as pretty as the pictures show, undercarriage looked about 35 or 40% remaining not to say that it could not be a good worker

Yea, would be fun to have that one...
Would buy it in a heart beat but will cost more to move it from there to here than it's worth.Cry

Would be a fun project if you could get it hauled and started. It would appear that the winch alone would be worth half of that cost.

Norm.   these old things are built to last and you can fix them if the parts can be had.  that being said.  ours havnt broken much and keep going.  nice thing about the Detroit is you can still get parts!

I sure wouldn't mind having that bad boy, but getting it home would eat my lunch money up in a hurry. Bet ya need ear plugs to run that thing. I ran an old ford half cab over semi around the farm here for many years, and it had a 6-71 Detroit. Quite possibly that's why my hearing isn't worth a now. I sure would like to hear one of them 6-110's run some time. Leland brothers have a couple of them, and say that they really have a "deep throat" sound to em. Darrel

understand now. I may call the guy and go look at it. Not sure what its worth if running okay but I would suspect 5 grand would catch it. I always hate to try to by something not running. just don't seem to have good luck buying them that way. cost a fortune just to fill the fuel tank and change out oils in that thing. thanks norm

no.  all shifts require clutching.  whether its 1 to R1 or 1 to 2.  High- low is a different shifter but still requires clutching .  forward to reverse requires clutching.    all dozers required clutching even torque converter units until the power shift transmission was introduced.   like a truck transmission just different pattern and more reverse speeds.

Ought to be a 6/71 IIRC.  A neighbour has one.

If it would somehow jump over to NC I would buy it.
