Dean: Congradulations on your new book, "Better by Design". I have had a little time to thumb through it, will have to settle down for some real reading soon. I am on somewhat of a quest, myself to find the newer decal for the oxnard dirt scoop made for the "D" series scoops, maybe you can help me there. Anyone would  like this book. It has many logos and great pictures. Dean, you can tell everyone more of what it is all about.  Dave.

Glad to hear you got it published in time for the show.  It was fun talking with you and your lovely wife about the book at Harmony.

The book is all about Allis-Chalmers.  I think it is titled "Better by Design".  I bought my copy Saturday at the Allis-Connection show, but I haven't had tiome yet to check it out thouroughly.  I think it is even printed in Iowa.  Dean was signing them at the show.  It is a hard-covered edition.  At the auction Saturday night Wendel's hardback book on Allis-Chalmers brought $105.00.

It's an interesting walk through the A-C tractor and some machinery with some interesting Byerly family stories. You won't be disappointed.

I thumbed through it Saturday night. I should have asked how many days it took to drive that combine from Des Moines to NE Ia.
