Has any one had much luck with the do it yourself tank epoxy/cleaner kits?  My tank has had some fuel in it for about 7 years.  I was planning on pressure washing it out, but was told I should get it "steamed" at a rad shop - what is the steaming?

A pressure washer won't hurt. Steam cleaning is just what it sounds like. Blow steam on it. Do you have rust in your tank or just varnish?

If it's old fuel residue, I've had good luck with the pour in the tank fuel injector cleaner. Let it set a day. The down side is you have to dispose of the liquidated crud. (waste oil barrell at work for me)

what i do is i took 2lbs of brass 5/16 bolts dump inside my tank and shake it till my arms feel like they are going to fall off (every direction including the tank jpside down) it will remove any rust or residue  plus your teflon liner will stick good
