The reason I want to is I have a good set of brakes for a 185, but the 185 uses the small spline for the brakes. Is the gear ratio the same?

hmm, I thought the 175 - 185 were the same - 170 is different.  Some of the bull widths were different but were replaced with wider gears best I remember.  Sure you do not have a 170 ?   70241775 is the axle that splines into the diff spider gears on the 175 and 185  right?

Actually I tore down my parts 170 and saw the difference in the diameters and assumed the 175 was the same  (my IT manual was for a 170). So....I guess I am all set to tear into the 175.  Still curious tho, since I have a 170 also...

Gear Ro on 185 is just a little slower than 175. Brakes are the same. No advantage for all the work.  MACK
