CA service manual says correct tire is 10x24.  Actual tire is 11x24 (i.e. old an crumbly).  What is it likely say about tire and rim size in current nomenclature?  Is this an 11.2x24 or 12.6x24? likely on a ten inch rim or an 11 inch rim?  I guess most importantly what's it say about the tire size.  I'll adjust the rim I get if needed.  I researched some "nomenclature conversion" web sites but several made conflicting statements.

10 x 24 (before 1957) turned into 11.2 x 24.      11 x 24 (before 1957) became 12.4 x 24.

I hope to increase 1 size due to complaints from my dad about getting stuck a lot.  So, I guess I'll consider 12 inch rims and 13.6 for the new configuration.  I don't find 11 inch rims, only 10 and 12.

I'm pretty sure these 11x24s are matched US Royals.  Grandpa was pretty particular.  But I remember driving it max speed down the road in the 60s and there was a serious bouncing up and down from side to side :)

Bouncing ?? sounds like no fluid in the tires. Won't pull nothing and bounce like a basketball.

My initial starter purchase content:

Two Front Tires and Tubes
Two Rear Tubes
Primer (gray)
Manifold and Gaskets
Wheel Spray Paint
Persian Orange Paint
Muffler and Rain Cap
Two 12 Inch Rims
Two 13.6x24 Tires (Titan Traction Lug R-1)

That's before we even get to the motor...there goes my tax refund :(

Possible, but I doubt it, grandpa was really particular and by the book.  Had every manual for every implement neatly cataloged and followed the instructions to the letter.  He was a machinist at Cummins, if he had to do or make something, it was top notch quality.

I tried and tried to get some firestones, but every place I tried was out of stock :(  It's like there's a run on tires (that I want)...:(
