NO, they are not the same starter. However  they will work as a need to get by. The C and early B tractors have the switch mounted on the bottom of the starter. The CA and late B tractors have the switch mounted on the top of the starter.
If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.

my C starter and CA starter had differant bendix gears the AGCO dealer said you could flip the nose cone when he pulled out of the box it was totaly differant. after some research there were two differant starters for the C my 1943 took a nolonger avaliabe starter. i took it to an old use to be AC guy he rebuilt it from parts in his shop.
