My CA stalls with cultivator even in sand. Raise cultivator slightly and it starts moving but the cultivator is'nt deep enough to get the weeds. Is this a traction boost or clutch problem?

If your hyd continues to work when it stalls, my guess is the hand clutch.

If your rear wheels aren't spinning - turning it would be main or hand clutch slipping? What's it do when you have it in gear, hold brakes and release clutch. It should kill engine.

Sounds like its time to rebuild the hand clutch.

I thought by stall he meant the engine dies, but it sounds like the hand clutch is slipping since he still has hydraulic power.

*Could* be the coil if it does it under load. I had that happen once on my 8N back in 2015. I was mowing a pasture, and as soon as I engaged the PTO and put a load on the engine, it would sputter and die. Ran fine going down the road, etc. I put a new coil in, and then I was back to brushhogging again.

Engine runs fine. The tractor just stops moving. Never gave the hand clutch a thought.
