Hey guys, finished this one up at 2 in the morning on thanksgiving day. I tried to keep everything as orginal as I could. This tractor belonged to my great grandfather who bought it on September 11, 1953 for 1145 dollars. It is still 6v volt and besides a good cleaning and getting the armature cleaned up, the generator is original. It is believed that this tractor only has around 1500 hours on it. Sat in an open shed all of its life and my great grandfather painted over rust whenver there was any. So underneath the paint was a lot of pitting and wirewheel work. I did not touch the engine since it doesn't smoke and runs great. I started on it in 2006 as a side project, and I've gotten most of the work done outside of college in this past year. I'm curious what you guys think of the color of the paint.

This was taken 15 years ago when I was 4 years old

This one was taken in 1957. Plowing up potatoes

The original sales receipt. The tractor was $1615 and the two bottom plows were $180. He traded in a C and cultivators and got 650 for them which knocked the price down to $1145.

Looks good! Lot of work put into that.
Like the fact that you have the history to go with it. That just makes it that much more valuable(to you). Got the original sales receipt for my grandad's C. Take care of it.

I didn't do it! It was a short, fat, tall, skinny guy that looked like me!

Looks Great!  A real nice piece of family history.  Paint looks good.  must have been a lot of cleaning to getr the oil and grime off.  Did you sand blast or only wire wheel?

I used NAPA martin senour paint, used a code that nobody has tried (that I know of). I actually used the pressure washer to clean her off, then used brakleen to get some of the leftover stuff off. The rear end was sand blasted, and everything else was wire wheeled. Most of the parts that I took off I sandblasted, but the main frame of the tractor was wire wheeled

You got one heck of fine tractor there. The work that goes into a job like that can only be appriciated by someone who has done one to that extent. Enjoy it.

You must of used a lot of cans of Brakleen! Very cleaver idea to use that break cleaner since it really does not leave a residue.
