I have a CA that is beginning to have a lot of wobble on the front tires at anything above 2nd gear. How many shims/gaskets should I remove initially to take the wobble out? I understand that it may be a trial and error process, but I need some guidance on where to start.

Each shim is about 2 thousanths take 2 out and see, unfortunatly almost every one ive seen has been run low on oil or oil replaced with grease and they get worn in the middle of the comb gear. If you get all the play out you wont be able to stear at gears will bind outside the normal .worn center part
